It was with great anticipation that I set my DVR for a date with Jack, as in Bauer, this past Sunday night.  So excited in fact, that my Facebook status update faked out a few of my friends and family into thinking I actually had a real date–they were very sad to hear it was of the TV fantasy variety only.  But I digress.  Sunday night was the first of a two night 4 hour (really only 98 minutes once you fast forward through commercials) season premier; a considerable amount of time for me to invest in TV viewing but so worth it.

Worth it because of the genius one line dialogue that is so eloquently weaved into the hour countdown that makes up each show.  For those of you saving the episodes for later viewing, I won’t ruin anything but the best line out of the whole two hours for me was when Madame President says, “it’s just technology, can’t we unplug the bastards?”  Which prompted me to shout, “welcome to the internets” out loud and to know one in particular.  No, you can’t unplug or undo or take away technology.  The sooner that fact is cemented in everyone’s brains the better.
