Obama Quick On The Web Draw

Although President-Elect Obama is still a couple months away from moving into his new white home – he has wasted no time in moving to a new interweb home at change.gov. It’s listed as the website for the Office of the President-Elect and houses a variety of president-elect content. It’s essentially the offspring of a presidential campaign site and whitehouse.gov. What I find most interesting about this is the slight social focus of the site.
Obama openly asks for users to share their stories, suggestions, and opinions. While it’s no prime example of user interaction – it’s certainly a step in the right direction of making people feel like they’re included in government. I wonder, did the times simply call for a website like this… or is this Obama’s first (small) step into more government transparency. I’d venture to guess a little of both – and am curious to see if this expands beyond a digital suggestion box.
