Internet Video + Primetime TV Shows + User Curation + MySpace = Primetime Application

Here’s the official blurb:
_____

MySpace’s new Primetime Application enables users to watch full-length and short form Hulu, Warner Bros, MySpace Original, and Licensed Content on their profiles and home pages.

_____

While videos on a MySpace page are nothing new, this takes it a step further by allowing people to stream their favorite shows via their own custom channel. So instead of visiting Eric’s MySpace page and seeing Battlestar Galactica and The Office listed as his favorite shows, I can watch his favorite episodes right there on his page. Enabling channel creation will also clean up clutter on people’s pages, since before the Primetime Application they’d have to embed a separate player for each video.

The next step I’d like to see from this is for them to allow people to embed their channel outside of MySpace. Obviously, I’m envisioning Gibbs12TV on YepYep, but I doubt that will happen any time soon.
