Being Human: Community Management Demystified

Posted by Tim Harris | June 22, 2010

I-miss-that-community

So BRAND walks into a bar… (no, this is not a joke).  What happens when “bar” equals “community hub?”

I’ve found the reactions of marketers to the need for serious thought and planning around community-management to be both surprising and fascinating.  After all, community management– like so many of the concepts that come onto our professional radar in a rush of “why haven’t you considered this before”– isn’t a new concept.  We could go all the way back to early human communities and examine counselors, religious figures and even the town drunk for clues about how to keep people happy, engaged and contributing to a greater good (or evil).

Location-Based App Report Card

Posted by Matt Story | June 1, 2010

locationreportcard

After a nice long Memorial Day weekend ushered in the summer, students across the country are taking that last set of finals in hopes of maintaining good grades or bumping up those so-so grades. With the spirit of report cards in the air, I thought it was a good time to give out a report card of sorts to the latest social media/mobile/application craze, location-based apps.

In lieu of grades, I’m taking a more general approach of commenting on: The Good, The Bad, and My Wish. Now bring on the judgment.

How To Be a n00b at Denuo

Posted by Jessica Lau | April 16, 2010

Allow me to introduce myself: I’m the rookie around here. The admittedly over-eager and dorky intern. I just finished my first week at Denuo and I am delighted to report that everyone here is refreshingly brilliant, intensely focused, yet pleasantly cool and collected (okay guys, can I get my ten bucks now?). Yes, I have much to learn here.

Sure, I expect it to be challenging at the bottom of the food chain, but that doesn’t mean I have to be anxious all the time. In fact, I will use this opportunity to gain critical purchase of my experiences, while providing some comic relief to my new colleagues. Here are four ways to be a n00b at Denuo:
