The site’s still in Beta (as are we, perpetually), but hopefully this iteration makes it easier for all of us (you included) to share thoughts, insights, updates and general musings on the ever-changing cultural landscape. Plus, we love keyboard cat and Borderlands and think they look cool in the new design.

As much as we’re waiting for the next Call of Duty release to cannibalize our free time this fall, there’s plenty in the world of gaming that’s keeping us excited until then, bursting this issue of PLAYED at the seams with news and insight. This month, we highlight five titles coming soon that will capture the hearts, minds, and thumbs of gamers worldwide, while taking a deeper look at the launch of The Beatles: Rock Band and its appeal to gamers and non-gamers alike.
