WE WON A TWITTER REVENUE CONTEST!

Posted by Benny Torres | February 5, 2009

A couple weeks ago Saneel was browsing the internets and happened upon Silicon Alley Insider’s “Twitter Business Model Contest.” The contest asked for ideas on a viable revenue plan for Twitter – something it doesn’t quite yet have. He forwarded the link to the rest of the group and we decided that we wanted to tackle the problem.

Why, you ask? Well, frankly, we love Twitter. Nearly everyone in the office uses it on a daily basis. (Heck, Saneel even created some rules to tweet by.) We’d hate to see Twitter disappear.

We also thought we could come up with a more innovative (and less intrusive) idea than ads via Twitter. Being ad supported means being focused on CPM – and that just didn’t make much sense to us. So with that – we released the hamsters onto the wheels in our heads and got to thinking.

So we’re trying something new here at Denuology. When something noteworthy, controversial, or just plain interesting pops up in the world -we’ll try to give you our opinions on the matter in 140 characters or less. 140 characters seem to work as the limit for SMSs and Tweets – so we figured we’d give it a try as well.

And we’re back with the “Top 5,” wherein an employee asks another employee their Top 5 “blanks” and they answer for all to judge. Last time Durbin asked Dan a very specific music-related Top 5. Dan was a bit less specific with my Top 5 – but arguably better than Durbin (although admittedly it’s not too hard to top Durbin). With that little bit of truth – I present to you – my top 5 Muppets.

So earlier this month, part of the Denuo crew went out to Vegas for CES 2009. There was certainly a lot to take in. From 3D television and cinema (available in abundance, but mostly gimmicky execution) to the glut of TV screens (getting thinner and greener, but not at the same time), CES was a tech geek’s dream. From a marketer’s perspective however, there were specific trends that will inevitably impact what we do in the near future. The purpose of this post is to call out a few of those major initiatives.

ea’s skate 2 integrates and creates skate stuff

Posted by Benny Torres | January 13, 2009

skate2Skate 2 releases later this month – and some pretty smart product integrations are starting to become apparent. First thing that caught my eye was these fantastic looking Etnies RMV “Skate 2″ shoes. Although I’m not a huge skater (although I do miss longboarding) I am a huge shoe guy. I think these things manage to represent the Skate franchise well without looking garish or over the top. I’d certainly buy them – and I think my fellow bright-shoe fanatics are down the halls of Denuo would agree. But it doesn’t stop at skate shoes with Skate 2…
